Academic Matters

The learning journey can be challenging, but we’re here to help. Find guidance on academic integrity, fitness to practice, mitigating circumstances, and appeals. Get the support you need to stay on track and succeed.

  • Academic Integrity At UHI, academic integrity, honesty, and trust are taken very seriously. You are expected to understand and adhere to the requirements concerning your academic work. Academic misconduct involves doing anything that gives you or another student an unfair advantage in an assessment.
  • Study Skills & Learning Support As part of your Student Induction, you will have been signposted to some resource material from UHI to help you in your development of academic work.
  • Mitigating Circumstances We know that your studies are only one part of your life. We also understand that matters can come up for anyone unexpectedly and beyond your control, making it harder to study to the very best of your ability.
  • Academic Appeals Sometimes things happen that impact your studies and performance in assessments – illness, bereavement, jury service, and other unforeseen circumstances.
  • Fitness To Practice Students on courses accredited by Professional, Statutory and Regulatory Bodies (PSRB) are also subject to the professional standards and/or Codes of Conduct issued by the PSRB.
