Hannah Laycock

Operations and Governance Coordinator

As Operations & Governance Coordinator at the Highlands and Islands Students’ Association (HISA), Hannah plays a key role in ensuring the smooth running of governance structures and operational frameworks. She manages trustee board meetings, oversees statutory compliance, and coordinates significant organisational events, all of which support HISA’s mission to empower student leadership across the region.

Hannah’s career spans over a decade of diverse roles across London, Brighton, and Scotland. She has extensive experience in studio management, production assistance, and research coordination, including a notable position at The Glasgow School of Art’s Digital Health & Care Institute. There, she contributed to innovative health and care projects, fostering collaborations and delivering impactful outputs.

Hannah also has a background as a visual artist, with work exhibited internationally. While her creative practice is separate to her other professional roles, the insights gained from this experience enrich her ability to approach challenges with creativity and sensitivity.

Hannah holds a BA (Hons) in Photography from the University of Brighton and continues to build on her professional achievements. In her role at HISA, she remains committed to supporting governance excellence and operational success, ensuring that the organisation thrives in representing the voices of students across the Highlands and Islands.
